“Sure are. They’ve been going at it for like, forty five minutes now.” Kira said.
“You could get arrested for that. You really should get away from that window.” Sara said.
“No, they won’t even be able to tell that I’m watching. They are across the courtyard. And besides, if they don’t want anyone watching, they shouldn’t leave their window open.” Sara said.
“You have no respect for people’s privacy.” Sara said.
“Stop tripping. You know you were watching them last night.” Kira said.
“But that’s cause you kept pestering me to look. And I have to say that I will never be the same.” Sara said.
“How do they get it all? Balanced like that? Man. They’ve got me working up a sweat. And I’m just watching. I wonder how long he’ll be able to hold on tonight.” Kira said.
“Don’t say anything if they call the cops on you.” Sara said.
“If anything, if they do see me it would just ruin their concentration. Throw them off balance.” Kira said.
“If you say so. But if the cops bang on our door, I’m gonna say that I don’t know you. And that I didn’t know anything about what you are doing.” Sara said.
“Well, since these binoculars that I’m holding have your name monogrammed on the sides, I think they will know that you are not telling the truth. Sara. They are bringing out the whipped cream. And sprinkles. The sparkly kind that people are afraid to eat.” Kira said.
Sara rose from the couch and she ran across the room. She paused in front of Kira and she snatched the binoculars from the young girl’s hand.
“Hey!” Kira shouted.
“Let me see.” Sara said.
Sara fell on her knees and she placed the binoculars against her eyes. She stared out of the window and she peered through a large window that adorned the identical building across from her.
She saw a young couple kneeling in front of a table.
A tall gingerbread house in the shape of a large Bavarian castle lay atop the wooden table.
The young couple held bowls of whipped cream, colorful candy beads and folded plastic piping tools in their hands.
Sweat glistened on their naked bodies as they placed the edible items strategically atop the towering building of pastry.
“Man, do you think they’ll be able to move that thing without it falling apart like last time?” Sara asked.
“Fifty bucks says that it can’t fit through the door.” Kira said.
Sara turned from the window and she smiled at her friend.
